Stay Motivated When Losing Weight

The key to successful weight loss is to stay motivated. You need to try and stay as focused as possible if you are determined to lose weight and get healthy. As losing weight is not just about looking good in clothes, if you are considerably overweight, it is also essential for your general health and well-being. Overweight people don’t tend to live as long and can suffer more health problems than those with a healthy weight. Having this thought in your mind can give you the impetus to really go for it.
You will only lose weight if you really want to; having a half-hearted approach will probably mean you will fail at your weight loss goals. Keeping your goals and aims within reach will make it easier for you to achieve. A good way of spurring yourself on to stick to a diet is to take photos of yourself as you are before you start dieting and consistently take photos throughout of your progress, seeing the results will only make you want to continue.
If there is a particular item of clothing that you wish you could fit into or would love to buy, keep that in your mind and imagine yourself wearing it and how great you will look. And then once you reach that target weight, you will feel a great sense of satisfaction. It may sound trivial but even accomplishing something small will keep you encouraged.
If you have a friend who would also like to lose weight, you could both join a gym together or go running together or even just be there to lend support to each other. Sharing your progress with each other can be fun and rewarding and keep the both of you focused. Dieting can be lonely and miserable but not when there is someone else going through the same thing, it can help inspire you to keep going and not to give up.

Trustworthy Weight Loss Supplements

Sometimes try as we might, we just cannot lose weight. Whether it be from lack of willpower or dedication or just that we are too busy, it is quite often not something we can do without any kind of intervention. Anyone who has ever struggled with their weight will know that finding a trustworthy weight loss supplement is not easy. With so many products at your disposal that all claim to work, how do you really know what ones will work and what one’s won’t? When you are that desperate to lose weight, we are quite prepared to try anything at all. This is a problem with the supplements that do not come with a full list of ingredients; you really do not know what you could be putting into your body. You do not know how you will react to it. The only way to find out for sure is to try for yourself, but by experimenting with these products you risk not only wasting money but possibly harming yourself and obviously, not losing any weight at all.
Many weight loss supplements unfortunately contain stimulants that can make your heart race; that for some people can be very dangerous. It can make some individuals anxious and jittery, some supplements can cause stomach upsets. Many harmful weight loss supplements are now outlawed but there are still some very unscrupulous companies that are happy to sell supplements to the public that they know will be detrimental to their health. Of course everyone is different and will react to things in different ways; some people may take supplements and have no problems whatsoever but is it worth taking the risk? Especially when you could choose a far safer alternative.
You have no doubt heard of Capsiplex, it has taken the media by storm, newspapers and magazines everywhere have featured Capsiplex. It has many celebrity fans who swear by Capsiplex to help maintain their red carpet figures. It is a unique supplement that integrates the use of Capsicum extract (red pepper), but due to the unbearable heat, it is generally not well tolerated by the majority of people. It has never been used successfully in a weight loss aid, until now. The manufacturers cleverly designed an outer layer on the capsule so that Capsiplex could be taken comfortably, with no stomach irritation and so it would be properly absorbed into the bloodstream. Capsicum extract helps to raise the body’s metabolism so that it may burn fat and calories (before and after exercise) more efficiently, increases energy expenditure and also may help to burn carbs. With Capsiplex, there is no need to change your lifestyle or your diet, simply make Capsiplex a part of it.

What Are The Top 5 Diets?

The Atkins Diet
The Atkins diet is very a low-carbohydrate diet. If we reduce the amount of carbs and eat more protein and fat, our bodies will naturally lose weight by burning our stored body fat a lot more efficiently. The problem with the Atkins diet is that because the body is burning its own fat, depending on what you eat it can have a few unpleasant side effects in some people such as bad breath and constipation. And with such a restricted diet, where you are eating a very limited amount of fruit and vegetables and quite simply just pure protein and saturated fats, you are increasing your risk of heart disease and some cancers.  The potential is there to lose a lot of weight very quickly on the Atkins diet as you will tend to feel fuller for longer by eating a lot of carbs, but this kind of diet when followed long- term is harmful to your health.
South Beach Diet
The South Beach Diet is quite similar to the Atkins diet in that it is another low carbohydrate/protein rich diet except it is a lot more balanced. Instead of sticking rigidly to low carbohydrate foods throughout the dieting phase, it focuses on how each good and bad carb foods effects your blood sugar levels. You stick to two weeks of strict restraint of what you can and cannot eat and from then onwards you can start introducing healthy carbohydrates and fruit to your diet again, it is all about experimenting with your diet and watching the weight patterns, learning what triggers your body to gain weight. If you begin to gain weight again you can easily revert back to the two week strict diet plan. As low-carb diets go, this is a far healthier diet as it not only allows encourages dieters not to cut anything out and to eat everything in moderation to maintain a healthy weight. This means you are far more likely to stick to this diet and reach your goals with great success.
The Cabbage Soup Diet
The Cabbage Soup Diet is as it sounds, eating Cabbage Soup in place of your main meals and very little else. It reduces the body’s calorie levels to the point of near-starvation.  You are allowed fruit and vegetables alongside the soup but you must only eat to the point of feeling satisfied not stuffed! This diet should not be used for longer than a week as it is generally used when weight is to be lost very quickly e.g.) for a wedding etc. Alcohol is not allowed, water and unsweetened juices are the only beverages you should be drinking throughout the week. You will lose weight relatively quickly on this diet but it is only suitable as a very short term fix, side effects include flatulence and bad breath. People with long term health conditions should consult a health professional but for healthy otherwise fit people, this diet should not cause any harm.
The Zone Diet
The Zone diet is different to other diets in that it discourages the intake of carbohydrates, bad fats, processed foods and sugars and focuses more on us eating more meat, fruit and vegetables. Dieters are encouraged to also calculate the amount of calories that they need a day and it also incites regular eating patterns and regular consumption of good fats and low glycaemic foods. It is a healthy and controlled way of eating which guarantees an effective weight loss although many people may find it costly and difficult to follow.

Easy Snack Ideas For A Healthy Diet

It is generally drummed into dieters that snacking is bad and that it should be avoided when you are trying to lose weight. There is actually absolutely nothing wrong with a few snacks between a meal so long as the snack is healthy and nutritional. The mistake too many people make when on a diet is eating a very small breakfast then of course they are hungry and can’t wait until lunch so they head straight for something very high in sugar or fat to satisfy their hunger and their craving.  It is far better to eat a slightly bigger, but still healthy breakfast that is going to keep you satisfied until lunch-time and to make sure you drink enough water, this wards off hunger. Although there are some snacks that you can include in your daily diet that will not interfere with the weight loss process and also stop you feeling hungry.
You do not have to be strict and never ever have any of the so-called bad treats just that these should really be limited when following a weight loss program. But not only that, excessively sugary foods are damaging to tooth enamel and foods high in fat content are bad for your cholesterol, heart and blood pressure. A good rule to follow is the 80/20 rule. Eat 80% of healthy nutritious foods and the other 20% can be anything you like.
By eating a varied, balanced diet your body is receiving everything that needs and then some. You do not have to starve yourself; you just have to be a little bit more selective about what you choose to eat and how often you choose to eat it.
It is important to have these kinds of snacks on hand so you are not always tempted to reach for the biscuit tin:
Dairy: Light, low fat yoghurt, cottage cheese with pineapple or strawberry and low fat-cheese, flavoured milk.
Fruit and Veg: Raw vegetables with seasoning and a fat-free dip such as sour cream, a fruit salad either with or without dipping sauce, whole wheat pitta bread with vegetables or hummus. Dried fruits such as apricots and raisins.
Savoury snacks: Low-fat tortilla chips with salsa dip, whole-grain rice cakes, low-fat popcorn, breadsticks and flatbreads. Raw nuts, preferably nuts that are un-salted, Olives, cereal bars.
Drinks: Flavoured water, Fruit juices (not fizzy), Home-made smoothies; fat-free hot chocolate. You can have usual beverages like tea and coffees just cut out the sugar and if you can stand the taste; try removing the milk in tea for a healthier beverage.
Treats: Frozen yoghurt, Dark chocolate (a lot healthier than milk chocolate!) Maraschino Cherries, Sugar-free jelly beans, dried fruits dipped in honey, Sugar-free jelly.

Losing Weight Takes Effort

If you have been trying to lose weight but have had no success, ask yourself, are you really trying hard enough?
It is not enough to just want to lose weight, you have to be proactive and make it happen. There are various crash diets that people try but everyone knows that crash dieting is not only dangerous and unhealthy, the results are very short-lived. They are ideal to lose weight for a special occasion or just purely for a holiday because that’s as long as the results from a crash-diet will last. And there is always the chance that once you stop a crash diet, within a week the weight will pile back on and you could possibly end up weighing more than you did before.
It is not just about food when it comes to weight loss. Exercise is equally important. It would not matter how little you ate, if you do not do any exercise whatsoever, you can’t realistically expect to lose weight. Exercise is crucial for our health and well-being and there is no exception when it comes to weight loss, exercise is a vital part of it. The key to successful and lasting weight loss success is a healthy, balanced and varied diet that is followed consistently, not just on occasion and frequent exercise.
People with very fast-paced lives might argue they don’t have the time to eat healthily or exercise, but healthy eating does not have to be time-consuming and exercise can be as little as just simply taking the stairs instead of the lift or walking into town instead of taking the car. It’s the little differences we make to our lives that make big changes. It may take time to see results but like they say; Rome wasn’t built in a day.  It is important to stay focused, not get disheartened if you do not lose weight as quickly as you’d like. Slow and steady is far better than to suddenly drop 10 lbs in a week. And as for eating habits, you can make it easier on yourself by not having endless amounts of sugary fatty foods in the house. If it’s not there, the temptation is reduced.

Weight Loss After Pregnancy

It is usual to weigh more than usual after you have given birth but this is no comfort to those who desperately want to get back to the weight they were before they became pregnant.  Especially if try as you might, you have not shed the amount that you were hoping for.
You might be surprised to know that some of the weight could actually be due to fluid retention. Particularly if you had a lot of IV fluids during your labour, but you should lose that fluid weight by perspiring and urinating more often.
Apart from the pregnancy weight f the baby, placenta, amniotic fluid etc., what do you do about the other stubborn weight that will not shift? There are some techniques that can help you to lose your post-pregnancy weight.
·         Drink several glasses of water a day. Replace sugary drinks with flavoured water or normal water and a squeeze of fresh lemon. This can help you to cut out a lot of calories.
·         Eat lean meats such as boneless chicken and very lean cuts of beef
·         Instead of junk food such as crisps and chocolate, snack on healthier foods such as raisins, popcorn, nuts and wheat crackers.
·         Eat plenty of whole grain bread, cereal and pasta.
·         Take part in some light exercise when you feel ready. Take a 10 minute walk with the baby each day and gradually increase the time. Or get a babysitter and go out for a long stroll with a friend.
·         Breastfeed! If you are able to breastfeed your baby, the longer you breastfeed the more calories you will burn, it is said that breastfeeding can burn up to 500 calories a day.
·         Consider joining a gym, preferably one that has a crèche when your child is a bit older. This is a great way to meet other mums who also want to lose weight and can offer some moral support.

If this all seems too daunting and you don’t think you can manage it without a little bit of help, perhaps you should consider trying Capsiplex. A feature shown recently in OK magazine of former glamour model Nicola Mclean, told her story of success with losing her baby weight by using the pro-slimming supplement.

Cayenne pepper

Dr. Patrick Quillin  "Cayenne pepper - prized for thousands of years for its healing power.  Folklore from around the world recounts amazing results using cayenne pepper in simple healing and in baffling health problems. But cayenne pepper is not just a healer from ancient history.
Recent clinical studies have been conducted on many of the old-time health applications for this miracle herb. Again and again, the therapeutic value of cayenne pepper has been medically validated."
In a recent letter to the editors of the New England Journal of Medicine, three Italian doctors describe how they were able to reduce patients' reported dyspepsia symptoms by more than half -  by prescribing red pepper powder. In a study of 30 patients with  functional dyspepsia, half of the participants received a placebo, while the other half took 2.5 grams of red pepper powder each day (divided into capsules taken before each of three meals). Both groups took their respective treatments for five weeks, and rated their symptoms each day on a scale of zero  to three (higher scores indicated more severe symptoms). By the third week, the red pepper group showed a significant advantage over the control group. And by week five, the pepper group's symptoms had declined 60 percent from their baseline scores - while the control group's scores had only decreased about half as much. The symptom scores included ratings for pain, a feeling of fullness, nausea, and an overall score. The red pepper powder produced significant gains in all four areas.
Many herbalists believe that Cayenne is the most useful and valuable herb in the herb kingdom, not only for the entire digestive system, but also for the heart and circulatory system. It acts as a catalyst and increases the effectiveness of other herbs when used with them.
Cayenne is a medicinal and nutritional herb.  It is a very high source of Vitamins A and C, has the complete B complexes, and is very rich in organic calcium and potassium, which is one of the reasons it is good for the heart.
Digestion
Cayenne can rebuild the tissue in the stomach and the peristaltic action in the intestines.  It aids elimination and assimilation, and helps the body to create hydrochloric acid, which is so necessary for good digestion and assimilation, especially of proteins.  All this becomes very significant when we realize that the digestive system plays the most important role in mental, emotional and physical health, as it is through the digestive  system that the brain, glands, muscles and every other part of the body are fed.
Heart
Cayenne has been known to stop heart attacks within 30 seconds.  For example, when a 90-year-old man in Oregon had a severe heart attack, his daughter was able to get Cayenne extract into his mouth.  He was pronounced dead by the medics, but within a few minutes, he regained consciousness.  On the way to the hospital, he remained in a semi-conscious state, but the daughter kept giving him the Cayenne extract.  By the time they got  to the hospital, he had fully recovered and wanted to go home and mow the lawn.  The doctor asked what she had given him, as he said it was the closest thing to a miracle he had ever seen.
Capsicum (cayenne pepper) is said to be unequal for its ability to boost circulation and increase heart action. Capsicum exerts a variety of desirable actions on the entire cardiovascular system. It has the extraordinary ability to enhance cardiovascular performance while actually lowering blood pressure. Capsicum has an energizing effect on the entire system. It has traditionally been used for overcoming fatigue and restoring stamina and vigor. It is a natural stimulant without the threatening side effects (palpitations, hyper-activity or rise in blood pressure) of most other stimulating agents.
Because Capsicum boots peripheral circulation and stimulates organ secretion, it expedites the therapeutic delivery and action of nutrients in the body. It will ensure the rapid and even distribution of the active principles of available nutrients to critical function centers, including those involved in cellular respiration, metabolic data transmission and neural-hormonal action. The remarkable ability of Capsicum to stimulate organ secretion and even heart action makes it one of the strongest natural stimulants known. Clearly, Capsicum should be considered nothing less than a wonder herb that has scientifically proven its worth!

The History Of The Capsicum Frutescens

Other Common Names: Aji Dulce, Cayenne, Cayenne Pepper, Chili Pepper, Chabai Achong, Filfil, Hungarian Pepper, Kirmizi Biber, La Chiao, Mexican Chili, Paprika, Peppers, Piment Doux, Pimiento, Red Pepper, Sweet Pepper, Capsicum frutescens
Range: Probably native of the Tropics, but the original habitat is obscure. China; Dominican Republic; Europe; Gabon; Haiti; Hawaii; India; Iraq; Malagasy; Malaya; Mexico; Mongolia; Panama; Philippines; Samoa; Spain; Tonga; Trinidad; Turkey; USA
Cayenne or Capsicum derives its name from the Greek, 'to bite,' in allusion to the hot pungent properties of the fruits and seeds. Cayenne pepper was introduced into Britain from India in 1548, and Gerard mentioned it as being cultivated in his time. The plant was described by Linnaeus under the name of C. frutescens proper. This species appeared in Miller's Garden Dictionary in 1771.
The dried fruit is a powerful local stimulant with no narcotic effect, it is most useful in atony of the intestines and stomach. It has proved efficacious in dilating blood vessels and thus relieving chronic congestion of people addicted to drink. It is sometimes used as a tonic and is said to be unequalled in warding off disease (probably due to the high vitamin C content).

Used externally, it is a strong rubefacient stimulating the circulation, aiding the removal of waste products and increasing the flow of nutrients to the tissues. It is applied as a cataplasm or linament. Cayenne also relieves painful muscle spasms in the shoulder, arm, and spine areas, bursitis, the pain of shingles, and the pain of diabetic neuropathy.

It has also been powdered and placed inside socks as a traditional remedy for those prone to cold feet.
The fruit is also antihemorrhoidal, antirheumatic, antiseptic, carminative, diaphoretic, digestive, sialagogue and stomachic. These pungent fruited peppers are important in the tropics as gastrointestinal detoxicants and food preservatives.
The fruits contain 0.1 - 1.5% capsaicin. This substance stimulates the circulation and alters temperature regulation. Applied to the skin it desensitizes nerve endings and so has been used as a local anaesthetic. The seed contains capsicidins. These are thought to have antibiotic properties.

Fruit - raw or cooked. Very hot and normally used as a flavoring. The fruit can be dried and ground into a powder for use as a flavouring. The fruit is up to 7.5cm long and 1cm wide.

How To Get A Six Pack

How To Get A Six Pack
A toned, washboard stomach is something that is highly sought after by men and women alike but of course it does not come naturally. Many people do not have the time or the money to commit to going to the gym but that does not mean that you cannot have an enviable stomach. It can easily be achieved in the privacy of your own home without spending a fortune on equipment and it does not have to take up all of your time.
Lose the excess fat and eat well!
First things first, you need to target the areas of fat by doing some cardiovascular exercise. It does not matter how much you exercise if there is a layer of fat over your abdominals, your six pack will be unnoticeable. Examples of this would be; Running, jogging or cycling. Anything that gets your heart and blood pumping is good to not only lose weight but to stay healthy. It is important not to skip breakfast as what usually happens is you will end up eating a massive lunch due to not eating anything for hours on end which of course is guaranteed to make you pile on the pounds. You should try not to skip lunch either as again, you will end up eating a larger dinner and most people are usually not very active after dinner which will lead to weight gain.  3 sensible well balanced meals a day and if you must snack between meals, make them low fat ones.
Drink water
Make sure you keep your fluid intake up as quite often, thirst is mistaken for hunger. So when we feel hungry we are actually thirsty. Keeping our fluid levels up not only suppresses appetite so that we eat less which is good for weight control, it ensures optimum digestion, removes waste products from the body, helps to keep our skin glowing and complexion healthy and encourages our kidney to function properly which increases the efficiency of our liver’s fat burning capacities.
Build muscle
You do not need to shell out on expensive equipment to build muscle. Exercises you can do at home include, sit ups, crunches, leg lifts and using a stability ball that supports your back and body so that you can effectively perform these exercises without strain. You should carry out these exercises at least three times a week. If you do have some money to spend you can buy some dumbbells very affordably, the more muscle you have the more calories your body will burn. Lifting weights and doing some kind of resistance training is important to make sure you do not loss too much muscle mass while you are reducing your calorie intake. You need to try to do an even amount of cardiovascular and resistance training otherwise if you concentrate on sorely cardiovascular activities you may lose the muscle mass that you develop in your abs.

Lose Weight Without Being Hungry

Lose Weight Without Being Hungry
Losing weight is usually associated with not eating very much and being constantly hungry all the time, which is why so many people are so loathed to do it and if they do give it a go, understandably they usually fail.  The trick is not to assume that to lose weight you have to starve and be hungry. You do not actually have to eat less food to lose weight but more change what kind of food you are eating.
By eating when you feel hungry, it will reduce the need to eat more between meals. So if you are literally starving yourself you are likely to end up putting on more weight. It is far better to eat consistently but smaller amounts, for example 5-6 small meals a day as opposed to 3 very large meals. The secret is not to wait too long between meals so that there is no temptation to snack which will undo all your hard work.
Most people snack because they are hungry; they have not eaten enough or have not eaten anything so before lunchtime they find themselves snacking. Never skip breakfast, this will mean you will eat a large lunch and by skipping meals, your body’s metabolism slows down and does the opposite of what you expect and holds onto the calories instead of burning them off. Eating little and often is also good for people who get a slump in the afternoon where they feel very lethargic, this is due to a drop in sugar levels due to not eating enough. Eating small meals or eating healthy snacks between meals will stabilise your blood sugar and ensure you do not get that uncontrollable tiredness in the middle of the afternoon so you won’t be reaching for the energy drink or chocolate bar for a boost of energy.
Eating slower is another way to ensure you do not over eat but you eat enough to feel satisfied. It takes about 20 minutes for the body to realise it is full so if you eat too quickly, the body will take longer to realise it is full up and obviously by that time you have eaten too much and it is too late. So by eating more slowly, the brain will send signals that you should stop eating just in time.
So as you can see, there really is no need to be hungry to lose weight; you are far more likely to keep the weight off if you eat sensibly and regularly.  Eating less food can sometimes be detrimental to weight loss not to mention your health. A varied, balanced diet coupled with exercise and a bit of determination and willpower will ensure that you lose weight.

The 4 Diet Myths

The 4 Diet Myths
The most common misconceptions when dieting is to think we need to eat exclusive food groups in order to lose weight. All this really does is deprive us from the essential vitamins and minerals our body need to function. Everyone wants a strong, fit and healthy body and this is only achieved from a well -rounded, well balanced diet.  Here we expel a few common myths when it comes to losing weight.
Myth 1:
We should only eat certain food groups.
Wrong. Many diets, crash diets in particular will advise cutting out particular food groups or only eating food from one food group. Our bodies cannot run on one kind type of food, we need a well- balanced, varied diet in order to stay healthy. We need a bit of fat, a bit of protein, vegetables, plenty of water, some carbohydrates and fibre. Even some of the so-called 'bad' foods our body will require some of those, if only in moderation but nothing should be cut out completely.  Fruits, grains, nuts and seeds are also essential for a strong immune system which will ward of illness and keep you healthy.

Myth 2:
You can only get protein from meat.
This is not true. Fruits, veggies, grains, nuts, legumes and oils all contain protein. Meat is actually high in fat and sodium, particularly red meats which if eaten excessively is not good for cholesterol levels. While it does contain protein; not as much as originally thought. Grains, oils, legumes and nuts actually contain more. Our body needs about 30 grams of protein a day so as you can see, you do not have to eat nothing but meat to get your daily quota.

Myth 3:
To lose weight, cut out the fat.
Our bodies actually need some fat to function properly; it allows the muscles and joints to work smoothly.  What you need to steer clear of are hydrogenated fats, good nutritious health giving fats consist of avocados, olive oil and raw nuts.
Myth 4:
You have to go without to lose weight.
Women on average should not consume any fewer calories than 1,200 a day and men generally should eat no less than 1,800 calories a day. Instead of snacking on high fat, high sugar foods, if you literally ate as much fruit and vegetables as you could manage, you would not only be satisfied and not hungry but it will have no bearing on your weight. The best way to lose weight is to eat foods as naturally as you can, with no added sugar or preservatives and cut out the unnecessary fats and simply eat what your body requires and no more, you will lose weight, stay healthy and live longer.
